• 1/2 l milk
  • 50 g cocoa powder (5 level spoons)
  • 100 g sugar
  • 5 eggs


Bring the milk to a boil. Add a little hot milk to the cocoa powder and mix well, then pour this mixture back into the rest of the hot milk and bring to a boil again. Mix the egg yolks with the sugar until smooth, add the hot chocolate milk while stirring continuously. Add the mixture back to the pan and let it thicken while you keep stirring vigorously. Take the pan off the heat, whisk the egg whites until they are stiff and stir through the custard. Serve the custard in a crystal bowl with some biscuits, wafers or similar accompaniments.
